Design Lead

We are looking for a very hands-on and creative Design Lead, with experience in branded environments and museum installations, to work collaboratively with an awesome team of dedicated people who are passionate about spatial storytelling and design intelligence. You’ll be working in close partnership with the Creative Lead, developing concept drawings, 3D renders and design documentation that meet Australian Standards. With 5+ years’ experience working with large scale commercial spaces, and an excellent understanding of construction materials, bespoke production processes and the psychology of visitor engagement, you’ll be confident with 3D modelling software (e.g., SketchUp) and the Adobe Creative Suite.

With various pillars of excellence and responsibility: 60% of your time will be delivering projects ranging from moodboards and design presentations that are on brief and detail driven across concept drawings and 3D renders, meeting deadlines, budgets and quality standards. It’s all about design and safety here. Then there’s the design quality: 20% is all about consistency and maintaining a high standard at all times. You’ll be working with the design team here, taking responsibility for clear constructive and actionable feedback whilst collaborating with Project Managers to ensure the best execution possible. And as the Design Lead: 20% will be all about maintaining a positive, organised and supportive working environment. Making sure that your Designers are challenged, motivated and managing their workload with a great sense of energy, enthusiasm and achievement.

There’s so much more to this opportunity, especially if you have proven leadership skills. A deep interest and knowledge of Industrial Design, Architecture, Interior Design or related discipline is a definite plus.

This opportunity can be based in either the Gold Coast or Melbourne.
